There’s something different about photographing a couple in a place that’s actually theirs. Chelsea and Keegan’s engagement session took place right at their own lakehouse on Clearwater Lake, and you could feel that ease in every single frame.

We kept the evening relaxed and low-key — no rigid shot list, just the two of them being exactly who they are in the place they love most. We wandered the dock, sat by the water’s edge, and let the cabin and the trees do the rest of the work. The soft evening light rolled in and out with the clouds, giving us that gentle, unhurried glow that made the whole session feel effortless.

They ran down the dock hand in hand, stole quiet moments by the water, and never once seemed like they were posing for a camera — just two people who happen to really like each other, at home.

Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. Just two people, completely at home, letting the day unfold exactly as it was.
